Pukaskwa National Wilderness Park

Picture
In September we were asked to be Artists in Residence at Pukaskwa National Park on the North Shore of Lake Superior, a beautiful and wild park. I led a small watercolour workshop and Carl photography. Lake Superior is an incredible lake, full of beauty and fury.

Pukaskwa is a very rugged, wild place on the shore of Lake Superior. Its ruggedness appealed to Carl and I as we hiked the trails and shoreline. We spent time painting and taking lots of photographs.  Had a perfect night for kayaking one evening, incredible light. But then a thunder storm hit and I can tell you it's a bit scary to sit in a tent trailer with lightening and high winds coming off Lake Superior!
In 2011, Carl and I did some camping and traveling. Thought I would add a bit here.

We flew into San Francisco  then drove up to Mendocino, then back thru the Napa Valley and down Hyw # 1 along the beautiful coastline. Then over to Sequoia National Park and into Yosemite Park. Such amazing scenery. Then back to San Francisco and home. We both agreed the California coast and Redwoods are amazing.
We definitly plan to return.

We have also traveled to New Mexico (Carl is from there) Arizona and the Grand Canyon, plus the Eastern coast of both Canada and USA, and the west coast of Canada.  But I realized those trips were without a digital camera, just the old film SLR. So no pics from those trips right now. Updates to come!
